About us

The ANIMOB platform is hosted by the Human Nutrition Unit (UMR INRAE-UCA) and operated by the ASMS team (Nutrition, Health, Muscle and Sarcopenia). Its research activities focus on investigating multimodal approaches combining nutrition and physical activity to prevent chronic diseases

The platform provides the following analyses :
1-    Muscle strength measurement using a grip strength test
2-    Assessment of balance and motor coordination
3-    Treadmill training
4-    Measurement of fatigue and maximal aerobic speed
5-    Measurement of spontaneous physical activity.

Services offered

The platform provides equipment for rodent training and the measurement of physical performance, including running speed and grip strength, as well as the assessment of balance and locomotor capacity. It also enables the measurement of spontaneous physical activity. All equipment is portable and can be installed in animal housing facilities. Measurements are performed in awake animals.
Additional biological analyses can be performed to characterise the effects of exercise training. These include routine biochemical assays, myokine quantification, and measurement of protein synthesis using plasma and muscle tissue samples
